Avocado Seed Tea Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 clean avocado seed (pit)
- 3–4 cups water
- Optional: lemon slice, cinnamon stick, or a small amount of honey for flavor
Instructions
- Wash the avocado seed thoroughly to remove any fruit residue.
- Allow it to dry, then grate it or cut it into small pieces (be careful—the seed is hard).
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Add the avocado seed pieces and simmer for about 10–15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it steep for another 5–10 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a cup.
- Add lemon, cinnamon, or honey if desired.
How to drink
Enjoy it warm or chilled. Start with a small amount if you have never tried it before.
Note
Avocado seed tea is a traditional drink, but claims that it “detoxes” the body or treats medical conditions are not well proven in humans. If you have kidney disease, liver disease, are pregnant, or take regular medicines, check with a healthcare professional before drinking it regularly.
I can also provide a cold iced avocado seed tea version or a spiced version if you’d like.
