Honestly, does anyone here actually eat Brussels sprouts?

Yes—plenty of people do! Brussels sprouts have become much more popular over the past couple of decades, especially when they’re roasted rather than boiled.

If you’ve only had them boiled, they can taste bitter and have a strong cabbage-like smell. But prepared differently, they’re often sweet, nutty, and crispy.

Some favorite ways to cook them include:

  • Roasted with olive oil, salt, and pepper until the edges are browned and crispy.
  • Air-fried for extra crispiness.
  • Sautéed with garlic and butter.
  • Roasted with bacon and a drizzle of maple syrup or balsamic glaze.
  • Shredded raw into salads with nuts, dried cranberries, and Parmesan.

Even people who used to dislike Brussels sprouts sometimes enjoy modern varieties, which have been selectively bred to be less bitter than those commonly sold decades ago.

So while they’re definitely not everyone’s favorite vegetable, they have a loyal following—especially when cooked to bring out their natural sweetness rather than overcooking them.
