- Rinse and let the bin dry completely before using it again.
To prevent them from coming back:
- Keep the lid tightly closed.
- Bag food waste securely and tie bags tightly.
- Wrap meat, fish, or seafood scraps before throwing them away.
- Rinse the bin regularly, especially in warm weather.
- Sprinkle a little baking soda in the bottom to help absorb odors and moisture.
- If possible, store the bin in a shaded area, since heat speeds up fly activity.
