My nana taught me this hack to make dusty blinds sparkle in 2 mins with 0 work. Here’s how it works

That headline is usually referring to a quick dusting trick for blinds using a microfiber cloth and something that traps dust, often a pair of old socks or dryer sheets.

A simple version:

  1. Put an old clean sock over your hand (or use a microfiber cloth).
  2. Lightly dampen it with water (or a small amount of diluted vinegar solution if the blinds are suitable).
  3. Run your fingers along each slat, gripping the top and bottom so you clean both sides at once.
  4. Flip the sock/cloth as it gets dusty.

Why it works:

  • Microfiber and fabric fibers grab dust instead of just pushing it around.
  • Cleaning both sides of each slat at the same time speeds up the job.

A few cautions:

  • Avoid soaking wooden blinds—too much moisture can warp the slats.
  • For very dusty blinds, vacuum first with a brush attachment to prevent smearing dirt.

The “2 minutes with 0 work” part is typical headline exaggeration; it’s a faster method, but large or heavily dusty blinds still take some effort.
