The dark ring around faucets is usually caused by a mix of hard-water mineral deposits (calcium/limescale), soap residue, grime, or mildew collecting where the faucet meets the sink. Here are safe ways to remove it:
Method 1: White vinegar (best for mineral buildup)
- Soak a cloth or paper towel in white vinegar.
- Wrap it around the dark area at the base of the faucet.
- Leave it for 30–60 minutes.
- Scrub gently with an old toothbrush or soft sponge.
- Rinse well and dry.
Method 2: Baking soda paste (for stubborn marks)
