I had no clue about this

That reaction makes sense—these kinds of headlines are designed to sound like hidden “health secrets,” but most of the time they’re just marketing language or social media exaggeration.

A good rule of thumb:
If something claims to “cleanse your whole body in minutes” or “detox instantly,” it’s almost never medically accurate. Your body already has a built-in system for that—mainly your liver, kidneys, and digestive tract—and they work continuously, not through quick fixes.

What is actually useful is the simple stuff people often overlook:

  • enough water
  • fiber in food (fruits, vegetables, grains)
  • regular movement
  • consistent sleep

Those have far stronger evidence behind them than any “miracle drink.”

If you want, you can send me any other health claim you’ve seen—I can break it down the same way so you can quickly tell what’s real and what’s just hype.
