Please upload a clear photo of the insect. Without an image, it’s difficult to identify it accurately.
For the photo:
- Place the insect on a plain white background if possible.
- Take a close-up picture with good lighting.
- Include something for scale (a coin, ruler, or fingertip).
If you found it on your son’s head, some possibilities include:
- Head louse (small, wingless, about 2–3 mm long, grayish or tan)
- Tick (rounder body, 8 legs, may appear attached to skin)
- Flea (dark brown, laterally flattened, jumps)
- Booklouse or other harmless small insects that occasionally wander onto people
Also tell me:
- Approximately how large it was
- Whether it was crawling or attached
- Its color
- Whether your son has scalp itching or visible nits (tiny white eggs attached to hair shafts)
Once you upload the image, I can help identify it and explain any next steps.
