Just one cup makes the peace lily bloom with so many flowers (all year round)

That “one cup and it blooms all year” claim is basically a gardening myth. A peace lily won’t reliably produce nonstop flowers from a single magic drink—what actually controls blooming is overall care, especially light, nutrients, and plant maturity.

For a Peace lily to bloom well and more often, it needs a balance of conditions:

If you want more flowers, the biggest factor is **light**. Peace lilies tolerate low light, but they bloom much more when they get **bright, indirect light** (near a window but not direct sun).

Next is **feeding**, not a single “cup.” A weak, regular fertilizer works best—something like a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Too much fertilizer actually reduces flowering and burns roots.

Water matters too, but more isn’t better. Keep the soil **lightly moist**, not soggy. Overwatering leads to yellow leaves and no blooms.

Also, older plants bloom more than young ones. If your plant is small or recently repotted, it may simply need time.

If you tell me what you were referring to by “one cup” (milk, tea, coffee, rice water, etc.), I can explain whether it helps or harms the plant specifically.
