Claims like “Just 2 ingredients to lose belly fat” are a common feature of ads, social media posts, and clickbait articles. There is no two-ingredient recipe that specifically melts belly fat.

Research shows that losing abdominal fat generally requires creating a calorie deficit over time through diet, physical activity, sleep, and other lifestyle factors. No food, drink, spice, tea, or combination of ingredients has been proven to selectively burn fat from the belly.

Some two-ingredient drinks often promoted for “belly fat loss” include:

  • Lemon water
  • Apple cider vinegar mixed with water
  • Ginger and lemon tea
  • Honey and warm water

While these may be low-calorie beverages, studies do not show that they directly eliminate belly fat on their own.
