Claims that “colonoscopy will no longer be an invasive examination” are usually referring to newer screening technologies, but they do not mean colonoscopy has disappeared or become completely non-invasive.

A traditional colonoscopy remains an important tool because it allows doctors to directly view the colon and remove precancerous polyps during the same procedure.
