One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles

One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles

A simple comfort meal with tender chicken, buttery noodles, and a flavorful sauce—all cooked in one pan.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts (or 4 boneless chicken thighs), cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups egg noodles (or another quick-cooking pasta)
  • ½ cup milk or cream (optional, for a richer sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken
Toss chicken pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Brown the chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes until golden and mostly cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the noodle base
Add butter to the same pan. Sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  4. Cook the noodles
Add egg noodles, cover, and cook according to package timing (usually 8–10 minutes), stirring occasionally until tender.
  5. Finish the dish
Return chicken to the pan. Stir in milk or cream if using, then add Parmesan cheese. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until creamy and combined.
  6. Serve
Sprinkle with parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.

Tip: Add peas, spinach, mushrooms, or broccoli for extra flavor and nutrition without adding another pan.
