Put two drops in your ear and you will regain your hearing.

That claim isn’t reliable as stated.

Putting “two drops in your ear” does not automatically restore hearing in general. Hearing loss can happen for many different reasons—like earwax blockage, infection, fluid buildup, damage to the eardrum, or nerve-related (sensorineural) loss—and each has very different treatments.

Ear drops can help in specific cases, for example:

  • Earwax blockage (certain softening drops may help loosen wax)
  • Mild outer ear infections (some medicated drops, prescribed by a clinician)

But they will not “regain hearing” universally, especially if the cause is nerve damage or inner ear problems.

If someone suddenly has reduced hearing, ear pain, ringing, or dizziness, it’s important to get a proper check from a clinician rather than trying random drops—some ear drops can actually make certain conditions worse (like a perforated eardrum).

If you want, tell me what made you hear this claim or what symptoms you’re thinking about, and I can help you figure out what might actually be going on.
