scrambled eggs

Scrambled eggs are a simple dish made by beating eggs and cooking them gently while stirring.

Basic Scrambled Eggs (1–2 servings)

Ingredients

  • 2–4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon butter or oil

Instructions

  1. Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk until combined.
  2. Add milk or cream if using.
  3. Heat a nonstick pan over medium-low heat and melt the butter.
  4. Pour in the eggs.
  5. Stir gently with a spatula, pushing the eggs from the edges toward the center.
  6. Remove from the heat when they’re still slightly soft—they’ll continue cooking from residual heat.
  7. Season with salt and pepper and serve.

Tips for Creamier Eggs

  • Cook over low heat.
  • Stir frequently but gently.
  • Add a small knob of butter near the end of cooking.
  • Avoid overcooking; scrambled eggs can become dry quickly.

Popular additions include cheese, chives, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, or smoked salmon.

Nutritionally, one large egg provides about 6 grams of protein along with vitamins and minerals. Scrambled eggs can be part of a balanced breakfast when paired with whole grains, fruit, or vegetables. 🍳
