Sloppy Joe Casserole Recipe

A cozy, cheesy twist on classic sloppy joes—easy to make and perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) sloppy joe sauce (or homemade sauce)
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (such as elbow macaroni or rotini)
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat until the beef is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the sloppy joe sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the cooked pasta and mix until everything is well combined.
  5. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Easy Add-Ins

  • Diced bell peppers for extra vegetables
  • Corn for a sweet crunch
  • Crushed crackers or breadcrumbs on top for a crispy finish
  • Pickled jalapeños for a spicy kick
