Clove Tea Recipe (Warm & Spiced)
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) water
- 4–6 whole cloves
- 1 small piece of cinnamon stick (optional)
- 2–3 slices of fresh ginger (optional)
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional, added after brewing)
- A squeeze of lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Add the cloves (and cinnamon/ginger if using).
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- Strain into a cup.
- Add honey or lemon if desired.
Tips
- Clove tea has a strong, warming flavor, so start with fewer cloves if you’re new to it.
- It is often enjoyed after meals as a soothing herbal drink.
- Avoid consuming large amounts of clove preparations regularly, especially concentrated clove oil, because high doses can be harmful.
If you take blood thinners, have a bleeding disorder, are pregnant, or have a planned surgery, it’s a good idea to check with a healthcare professional before using medicinal amounts of clove.
