Clove Tea Recipe (Warm & Spiced)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) water
  • 4–6 whole cloves
  • 1 small piece of cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 2–3 slices of fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, added after brewing)
  • A squeeze of lemon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the cloves (and cinnamon/ginger if using).
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
  4. Strain into a cup.
  5. Add honey or lemon if desired.

Tips

  • Clove tea has a strong, warming flavor, so start with fewer cloves if you’re new to it.
  • It is often enjoyed after meals as a soothing herbal drink.
  • Avoid consuming large amounts of clove preparations regularly, especially concentrated clove oil, because high doses can be harmful.

If you take blood thinners, have a bleeding disorder, are pregnant, or have a planned surgery, it’s a good idea to check with a healthcare professional before using medicinal amounts of clove.
