One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles
A simple comfort meal with tender chicken, buttery noodles, and a flavorful sauce—all cooked in one pan.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts (or 4 boneless chicken thighs), cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups egg noodles (or another quick-cooking pasta)
- ½ cup milk or cream (optional, for a richer sauce)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken
Toss chicken pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. - Brown the chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes until golden and mostly cooked through. Remove and set aside. - Make the noodle base
Add butter to the same pan. Sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. - Cook the noodles
Add egg noodles, cover, and cook according to package timing (usually 8–10 minutes), stirring occasionally until tender. - Finish the dish
Return chicken to the pan. Stir in milk or cream if using, then add Parmesan cheese. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until creamy and combined. - Serve
Sprinkle with parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
Tip: Add peas, spinach, mushrooms, or broccoli for extra flavor and nutrition without adding another pan.
