If you’re trying to clean the inside of your oven glass without removing the door, you can usually loosen baked-on grease with a few household methods:
- Let the oven cool completely
Make sure the oven is off and safe to touch. -
Make a baking soda paste
Mix:- ½ cup baking soda
- A few tablespoons of water (enough to make a thick paste)
Spread it across the inside glass, especially over greasy spots. Avoid forcing paste into door vents or openings.
- Leave it to work
Let the paste sit for 30 minutes to a few hours. For heavy buildup, leaving it overnight can help. - Wipe away the grease
Use a damp microfiber cloth or a non-scratch sponge. A plastic scraper can help lift stubborn residue without scratching the glass. - Remove cloudy residue
Spray the glass lightly with white vinegar, then wipe clean. The vinegar will react with leftover baking soda and help remove the film. - Dry and polish
Buff the glass with a dry microfiber cloth to remove streaks.
For very stubborn baked-on grease, repeat the process rather than using harsh abrasives, which can damage the glass surface or door seals. Always check your oven manufacturer’s cleaning guidance before using commercial oven cleaners, as some products aren’t suitable for certain oven doors.
