A dump cake is called that because you literally “dump” the ingredients into a baking dish—no complicated mixing required.


Ingredients

  • Lemon Pie Filling (1 can)
  • Cream Cheese (8 oz, softened)
  • Yellow Cake Mix (1 box)
  • Butter (½–1 cup, melted or sliced)
  • Optional: powdered sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Set oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Layer the base

Spread the lemon pie filling evenly in a baking dish.

3. Add cream cheese

Drop spoonfuls of softened cream cheese over the filling.
(You don’t need to mix it in completely.)

4. Add cake mix

Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over everything.

5. Add butter
