My nana taught me this hack to make dusty blinds sparkle in 2 mins with 0 work. Here’s how it works

If your blinds are dusty, a simple cleaning trick can make the job much faster.

A quick 2-minute method

  1. Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl or spray bottle. (You can also use water with a few drops of mild dish soap.)
  2. Put on a clean microfiber glove or wrap a microfiber cloth around kitchen tongs and secure it with rubber bands.
  3. Lightly dampen the cloth—don’t soak it.
  4. Close the blinds in one direction and wipe each slat from top to bottom.
  5. Reverse the blinds and wipe the other side.
  6. Finish with a dry microfiber cloth if needed to remove any remaining moisture.

Why it works

  • Microfiber traps dust instead of just pushing it around.
  • White vinegar helps loosen grime and cuts through light grease without leaving much residue.
  • Cleaning both sides while the blinds are angled minimizes the effort.

A few tips

  • Avoid soaking wood blinds, as excess moisture can damage or warp them. Use a barely damp cloth instead.
  • For vinyl or aluminum blinds, this method is generally safe.
  • Regular light dusting once a week helps prevent heavy buildup, making each cleaning much quicker.

While no method is truly “zero work,” using a microfiber cloth or glove is one of the fastest ways to get dusty blinds looking clean with minimal effort.
