My nana taught me this hack to make dusty blinds sparkle in 2 mins with 0 work. Here’s how it works

If you’re looking for the quick “grandma hack” to clean dusty blinds, here’s a simple method that takes only a few minutes:

The sock-and-vinegar blind cleaning trick

You need:

  • 1 clean old sock (or microfiber cloth)
  • White vinegar
  • Warm water

Mix:

  • 1 part white vinegar
  • 1 part warm water

How to do it:

  1. Put the sock over your hand like a glove.
  2. Dip it lightly into the mixture and wring it out well (it should be damp, not dripping).
  3. Close the blind slats and wipe each slat from end to end.
  4. Flip the slats the other direction and repeat.
  5. Let them air dry or wipe with a dry microfiber cloth.

Why it works

  • The fabric grabs loose dust.
  • The vinegar solution helps cut through fingerprints and light grime.

A few cautions:

  • Don’t soak wooden blinds—excess moisture can warp or damage them.
  • Test vinegar on a small hidden area first if the blinds have a special finish.
  • For regular upkeep, a dry microfiber duster once a week prevents heavy buildup.

It won’t truly require “zero work,” but it is one of the faster ways to make dusty blinds look noticeably cleaner.
