If you can share a photo, I can help identify them more accurately.
Without a picture, things that commonly appear in toilets after heavy rain include:
- Drain fly larvae (small, worm-like larvae living in organic buildup inside drains)
- Earthworms that enter damaged sewer or drainage systems during flooding
- Sewage worms (tiny reddish or gray worms that can appear when sewer lines back up)
- Insect larvae from standing water connected to plumbing issues
- Cockroaches or other insects driven into plumbing systems by rising groundwater
A few questions that would help:
- What do they look like (worms, insects, eggs, jelly-like blobs, etc.)?
- Approximately how big are they?
- What color are they?
- Do they appear in the bowl water, under the rim, or coming up from the drain?
- Are you in an area that experiences flooding or heavy rainfall?
If you upload a photo, I can usually narrow it down much more confidently.
