I won’t jump straight to “bed bugs,” because a lot of tiny household bugs get blamed for that—but I do need to see what you found before saying anything reliable.
Could you either:
- Upload a clear photo, or
- Describe it (size, color, shape, whether it moves fast or slow, flat or round, etc.)
In the meantime, here’s how to tell the difference
Bed bugs (Bed bug infestation) usually:
- Are small (about apple seed size when adult)
- Flat and oval-shaped
- Reddish-brown
- Hide in mattress seams, sofa cracks, and wooden joints
- Leave signs like tiny black fecal spots or shed skins
But in sofas, people often also find:
- Carpet beetle larvae (hairy, worm-like)
- Booklice (tiny, pale, fast-moving)
- Flea debris or fleas (jumping insects, usually from pets)
- Lint or seed-like debris that looks like insects
Quick reality check
If you only found one insect-like thing, it’s often not a full infestation. Bed bugs are usually accompanied by multiple signs, not just a single bug.
Send a photo if you can—I’ll help you identify it clearly without guessing.
