One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles | Perfect for Busy Nights!

A comforting, easy dinner with tender chicken, buttery noodles, and a simple savory sauce—all made in one pan.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 8 oz (225 g) egg noodles or pasta
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken
    • Toss chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Cook the chicken
    • Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
    • Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes until browned and mostly cooked through.
    • Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Make the noodles
    • Add the remaining butter to the same pan.
    • Sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
    • Add noodles and cook according to package directions, stirring occasionally.
  4. Finish the dish
    • Return chicken to the pan and cook until heated through and noodles are tender.
    • Stir in Parmesan cheese if using.
    • Garnish with parsley.

  • Add spinach, peas, mushrooms, or broccoli for extra vegetables.
  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier result.
  • For a creamy version, stir in a splash of cream or milk at the end.
