Do this and your geraniums will be able to bloom almost continuously for over a year.

That kind of claim is exaggerated. Geraniums can bloom for a long time, but “almost continuously for over a year” depends on plant care, climate, and pruning—not a single trick.

Your plant is likely a Geranium, and here’s what actually makes it bloom repeatedly:

🌸 What really keeps geraniums blooming

☀️ 1. Plenty of sunlight (most important)

  • Needs 4–8 hours of direct sun daily
  • Low light = leafy growth, fewer flowers

✂️ 2. Regular deadheading

  • Remove faded flowers
  • This forces the plant to produce new buds instead of seeds

🌿 3. Proper pruning

  • Light trimming every few weeks
  • Encourages bushy growth and more flowering stems

🧴 4. Balanced fertilizer

  • Use a low-nitrogen, high-potassium fertilizer
  • Too much nitrogen = lots of leaves, fewer flowers

💧 5. Correct watering

  • Water when top soil is dry
  • Avoid soggy soil (causes root rot)

🌱 6. Good drainage

  • Geraniums hate “wet feet”
  • Pots must have drainage holes

⚠️ Why “continuous blooming for a year” is misleading

Even with perfect care:

  • Plants have natural blooming cycles
  • They may slow down in extreme heat or cold
  • They still need short rest periods

🧠 Bottom line

There is no magic method for nonstop blooming. But with:
sunlight + pruning + proper feeding, geraniums can bloom for many months and repeatedly throughout the year in good conditions.
