How to remove the dark circle around the faucets

Dark rings around faucets are usually caused by hard-water mineral deposits (calcium/lime), soap residue, mildew, or grime buildup. Here are some simple ways to remove them:

1. White Vinegar Method (Best for Hard Water Stains)

You need:

  • White vinegar
  • Soft cloth or paper towel
  • Old toothbrush

Steps:

  1. Soak a cloth or paper towel in white vinegar.
  2. Wrap it around the stained area of the faucet.
  3. Leave it for 30–60 minutes.
  4. Scrub gently with a toothbrush.
  5. Rinse well and dry with a clean cloth.

2. Baking Soda Paste (For Stubborn Marks)

  1. Mix baking soda with a little water to make a paste.
  2. Apply it around the faucet base.
  3. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Scrub gently and rinse.

3. Lemon Juice (Natural Acid Cleaner)

  1. Rub fresh lemon juice on the dark area.
  2. Wait about 10 minutes.
  3. Wipe and rinse thoroughly.

4. For Black or Mold-Like Rings

If the ring looks black and keeps returning:

  • Clean with warm soapy water first.
  • Use a small amount of diluted hydrogen peroxide or a bathroom mold cleaner if needed.
  • Dry the area afterward to prevent regrowth.

Prevention Tips

  • Wipe around the faucet after use to prevent water spots.
  • Fix leaking faucets, since constant moisture encourages stains and mildew.
  • Apply a small amount of car wax or faucet-safe protectant occasionally to reduce buildup.

Avoid: harsh abrasive scrubbers or strong acids on chrome, brass, or special faucet finishes, as they can damage the surface.
