My nana taught me this hack to make dusty blinds sparkle in 2 mins with 0 work. Here’s how it works

If you’re looking for a quick way to make dusty blinds look cleaner, the “2-minute, zero-effort” claim is a little exaggerated—but there are some simple tricks that work well.

Quick Blind-Cleaning Hack

You’ll need:

  • A clean microfiber cloth (or an old sock)
  • Warm water
  • A small amount of mild dish soap (optional)

Steps:

  1. Close the blinds so the slats are facing one direction.
  2. Put a microfiber cloth or clean sock over your hand.
  3. Lightly dampen it with warm water (don’t soak it).
  4. Wipe each slat from one side to the other.
  5. Rotate the blinds and repeat on the other side.

For extra dusty blinds:

  • Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment first to remove loose dust.
  • Add a drop of dish soap to the water for greasy kitchen blinds.
  • Dry the slats afterward to prevent streaks.

To keep blinds cleaner longer:

✅ Dust them once a week with a microfiber duster
✅ Avoid using too much water on wooden blinds
✅ Clean kitchen blinds more often because grease attracts dust

A simple sock-over-your-hand method works because it lets you grip each slat and remove dust faster than a regular cloth.
