Shrimp Avocado Crostini

Shrimp Avocado Crostini is an elegant appetizer that combines crispy toasted bread, creamy avocado, and tender shrimp. It’s perfect for parties, brunches, or as a light snack.

Ingredients (Makes 12–16 crostini)

  • 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 250 g (8 oz) cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cherry tomatoes, finely diced (optional garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crostini

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes, turning once, until golden and crisp.

2. Make the Avocado Spread

  1. In a bowl, mash the avocados.
  2. Add lime juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until creamy but still slightly chunky.

3. Prepare the Shrimp

  1. If using cooked shrimp, pat dry and chop into bite-sized pieces if large.
  2. Toss with a little olive oil, cilantro or parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

4. Assemble

  1. Spread a generous layer of avocado mixture onto each crostini.
  2. Top with one or two shrimp.
  3. Garnish with diced cherry tomatoes, extra herbs, or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired.
