THIS burns weeds in 1 day! They NEVER grow again

Claims like “this burns weeds in 1 day and they never grow again” are usually exaggerated. Many homemade weed-killing methods can burn the leaves quickly, but they often do not kill the roots, so weeds can grow back.

Common weed-control options:

1. Boiling water

  • Pouring boiling water directly on weeds can damage the leaves and roots near the surface.
  • Works best on weeds growing in cracks, driveways, and paths.
  • Avoid pouring it near grass or desirable plants because it can damage them too.

2. Vinegar-based weed killers

  • Household vinegar can dry out foliage, especially on young weeds.
  • It may not kill deep roots, and repeated applications may be needed.
  • Stronger horticultural vinegar products require careful handling.

3. Mulching

  • A thick layer of mulch, cardboard, or landscape fabric can block sunlight and reduce weed growth long-term.

4. Pulling or digging

  • Removing the entire root system is often the most reliable way for individual weeds.

Be cautious with “never grows again” recipes that use harsh chemicals or large amounts of salt—salt can damage soil and prevent other plants from growing for a long time.
