Creamy Filled Celery Sticks — Easy Party Treat

A crunchy, refreshing appetizer with a creamy filling that’s perfect for parties, snacks, or a light bite.

Ingredients

  • 12 celery stalks, washed and trimmed
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1–2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (chives, parsley, or dill)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the celery
    • Cut celery stalks into 2–3 inch pieces.
    • Pat dry with a paper towel so the filling sticks better.
  2. Make the creamy filling
    • In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt (or sour cream), lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
    • Fold in herbs, nuts, and cheddar cheese if using.
  3. Fill the celery
    • Spoon or pipe the creamy mixture into each celery stick.
  4. Chill and serve
    • Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes before serving for the best flavor and texture.
    • Garnish with extra herbs or a sprinkle of paprika if desired.

Variations

  • Bacon cheddar: Add cooked crumbled bacon and extra cheddar.
  • Ranch style: Mix in ranch seasoning and chopped green onions.
  • Sweet version: Use cream cheese with dried cranberries and chopped nuts for a sweet-savory twist.

Make-Ahead Tip

Prepare the filling up to 2 days ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator. Fill the celery shortly before serving to keep it crisp.
