THIS burns weeds in 1 day! They NEVER grow again

Claims like “this burns weeds in 1 day and they never grow again” are usually exaggerated. There is no simple household remedy that permanently prevents all weeds from returning because weed roots and seeds can remain in the soil and new weeds can arrive from wind, animals, and surrounding areas.

Some methods that can help control weeds:

  1. Hand removal (best for small areas)
    • Pull weeds after rain or watering when the soil is softer.
    • Remove as much of the root as possible.
  2. Mulching
    • A 5–10 cm (2–4 inch) layer of mulch, such as wood chips or bark, blocks light and reduces new weed growth.
    • Leave space around plant stems to avoid rot.
  3. Boiling water (for cracks and hard surfaces)
    • Pouring boiling water on weeds in driveways or sidewalk cracks can kill the above-ground plant tissue.
    • It may need repeating because roots can survive.
  4. Vinegar-based weed killers
    • Horticultural vinegar products with higher acetic acid concentrations can burn leaves.
    • Regular kitchen vinegar is often too weak for tough weeds, and vinegar can harm nearby plants and soil organisms.
  5. Improving garden conditions
    • Dense, healthy lawns and well-maintained garden beds leave less space for weeds to establish.

Be careful with viral “weed killer” recipes that use salt or harsh chemicals. Salt can damage soil for a long time and prevent desirable plants from growing.

For long-term weed control, the most effective approach is usually removing existing weeds + preventing new growth with mulch or good ground cover, rather than relying on a one-time spray.
