Easy Southern Honey Butter Skillet Corn (4 Ingredients) 🌽🍯
This simple Southern-style skillet corn is sweet, buttery, and creamy with just a few ingredients. It works well as a quick side dish for grilled meats, holiday meals, or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients (4 servings)
- 4 cups corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned and drained)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ¼ cup heavy cream (optional for a richer, creamier texture)
(For a strict 4-ingredient version, use the first four ingredients only.)
Instructions
- Melt the butter
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Add butter and let it melt.
- Cook the corn
- Add corn to the skillet and stir.
- Cook for about 5–8 minutes until heated through and lightly golden in spots.
- Add sweetness and creaminess
- Stir in honey and heavy cream.
- Cook for another 2–3 minutes, stirring until the corn is coated and glossy.
- Serve warm
- Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
Optional additions
- A pinch of salt to balance the sweetness
- A little black pepper for a savory twist
- A dash of chili flakes or smoked paprika for heat
Tip: If using frozen corn, cook it straight from frozen and allow a few extra minutes for the water to evaporate so the butter sauce clings better to the kernels.
