Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for a crispier coating)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, to thicken)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Toss with cornstarch if using.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, water, and vinegar. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  6. If you’d like a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another minute.
  7. Return the chicken to the pan and toss until coated in the glossy sauce.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
