Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  4. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 9–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before transferring to a rack.

Tip: Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker, chewier cookies.

You can also customize them with walnuts, pecans, coconut, peanut butter chips, or a sprinkle of sea salt on top.
